Stress Photonics GFP 2000 Grey-Field Poleidoscope

The GFP 2000 works with a wide variety of coating techniques includng instantly useable glue-on sheets or easy to apply paint-on epoxy. Special tinted resins enable the system to automatically measure the coating's thickness, reducing photoelasticity to a simple paint and shoot technique. With the GFP 2000 residual stresses in glass and plastic can easily be assessed without coatings. Production auto glass can be inspected without removing the black paint band!

Key Features of the GFP 2000

  • Dynamic Testing
  • Use in confined places
  • Possible use in dynamic rigs
  • Real-time images of stress patterns
  • Compact size camera head and flexible light source and projection head
  • Use in production line environment, e.g. monitoring the quality of glass or plastic

Technical Specifications

Only the GFP 2000 utilises a patent pending achromatic circularly polarizing illumination head. The modular design allows a choice of several illumination sources, including high luminance and strobe sources.

The GFP 2000 uses patented kaleidoscopic optics to replicate the image four times on the detector. All sub images are simultaneously analysed with a differently oriented polariser to measure the stress induced at every pixel.
