Stress Photonics GFP 1200 Grey-Field Polariscope

This full-field photoelastic strain measurement system features automated data acquisition and processing. The extremely sensitive system can measure shear strain magnitude and direction without high-strain photoelastic fringes. The GFP 1200 utilises Stress Photonics' DeltaVision software for detailed analysis and high quality presentation.

Key Features of the GFP 1200

  • Automated full-field strain measurement
  • Compatible with all coatings
  • Thickness measurement via tinted coatings
  • 20 microstrain resolution typical
  • Sub-fringe or multi-fringe
  • Simple static loading
  • Traceable system calibration
  • No fringes to analyse
  • Automatic measurement of coating thickness
  • Fully computerized digital system
  • Thin easy-to-apply coatings

The full-field strain images can be analysed via the easy to use DeltaVision software. The software allows GFP 1200 users to take advantage of powerful Windows software and network resources to process and present data quickly and easily. DeltaVision works easily with popular word processing and graphic presentation software such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Images and data information can quickly and easily be copied and pasted from DeltaVision to other Windows applications.

The GFP 1200 is well suited to the following engineering applications:

  • Locating 'Hot Spots' - High Strain Areas
  • Verifying FEA Models
  • Load Stepping Techniques
  • Analysing Dynamic Loading Situations with High Frequency (kHz) Stroboscopic System
  • Oblique Incidence Photoelasticity
  • Performing Strain Analysis on Stereolithography Models
  • Monitoring Fatigue Tests in Progress
  • Visualising Residual Strains in Glass and Plastic
